Here is an interesting little gilt Sterling pendant with a modernist abstract guilloche enamel design. It was made by the highly original Norwegian silversmith Øystein Balle, who worked in Stavanger from 1964. The detailed guilloche patterning on the irregular square brooch underlines the application of blue, white and red enamel, the latter two in relief. I have seen this design before, as a brooch and earrings. Indeed, this pendant may have been converted from an earring. The pendant is supplied with a new silver chain of unknown origin.
Condition: Excellent, no visible damage to enamel or silver.
Marks: Balle, 925S,
Size: approx 0.9" ( 2,25 cm) square
