Here is a silver replica of an early Viking snake ring from Denmark,, traditionally worn by the rich and powerful and known as a chieftain ring. The metal coil (usually gold)) was twisted around the finger and the ends were transformed into snake heads. It was commissioned by the Danish company GIFA (Guldsmedenes Indkøbsforening) who were registered from 1959 to 94.
