The large silver-gilt ear studs for pierced ears started life as 2 sprigs of parsley. moulds were taken from them and the silver base was layered with 18 ct gold. No mould is ever used again, so each sprig is different. I believe these were made by the Danish creators of this type of jewellery, Flora Danica, but cannot be sure as they are unmarked.
