Here are two examples of the famous Sterling silver Dogwood Flower pattern jewellery which launched and sustained Stujart Nye's career.  Stuart Nye established 1933 in North Carolina and it is still in existence.  The brooch is seen quite frequently but the bangle is rarer, especially in the U.K.

Anton Michelsen, Engel, Sterling silver "Grass" brooch

Here is a lovely ceramic brooch featuring spring tulips,  It was designed by the Finnish artist Heljä Liukko Sundström for Finland's leading producer of ceramics, Arabia. This company was established in 1873 and has been a design innovator through the generations and styles.  Heljä was born in 1938 and produced a number of designs for brooches and tiles, mostly in the 1960s and 1970s

Large Anton Michelsen silver gilt enamel Daisy brooch

Product no.: 2397

This lovely daisy is made of sterling silver gilt with white enamel.Designed in 1940 to celebrate the birth of Princess (now Queen) Margrethe, this was Anton Michelsen's (see profile) most successful creation of the 20th century and that success is being repeated in the 21st century since being re-issued by Georg Jensen. The design has been produced in several sizes, but this large size is very rare. The Marguerite daisy is the national flower of Denmark.  This example is an original Anton Michelsen piece, made before the take-over in 1968,

Here is a wonderful brooch by the Norwegian silversmith Ivar T Holth. It is available in blue or red. It combines the intricate art of filigree work with the equally intricate guilloché enamel. The silver (silver gilt in the red brooch) filigree is mounted onto the enamel base with a bolt through the centre.

Here is a fabulous guilloche enamel brooch by the renowned Danish enamellist, Volmer Bahner (see bio).  It is boomerang shaped with a 'squiggly' guilloche pattern underneath the pale blue enamel.

Here is a very famous silver and enamel brooch by the Danish silversmith Erik Magnussen, who worked in Copenhagen from 1901 to 1920 and again from 1939.  After early recognition and successes with Art nouveau creations he spent many years in America, returning home to concentrate on simpler, Nordic themes.  Here is the most successful, with the swans each adorned with the national colours of one of the five Nordic countries.
