Here is a fabulous brooch in high shine pewter ( currently looks like silver)  by the Norwegian silversmith Astrid Holthe, established in Arendal in 1943.  The brooch is fashioned in the Urnæs style, referring to the ornately decorated stav church in the vilage of Urnæs. Here the slim and stylised animals are interwoven into tight patterns.
