Here is an iconic David- Andersen of Norway four seasons enamel brooch. Thorbjørn Lie Jorgensen designed the four seasons collection in 1959, an abstract design produced in four enamel colourways, one for each season. The brooch is made of gold vermeil over sterling, and demonstrates a mastery of several enamelling tecchniques. Firstly there is a very fine guilloché pattern underneath the enamel. Secondly, the enamels have been poured into separate sections, separated by bands of gilt silver which form the abstract pattern. This latter technique is called cloissoné
