Here is a delightful Sterling silver bird brooch designed by Arno Malinowski for Georg Jensen. In this design Malinowski has combined his much loved chubby bird motif with that of the leaves seen in his heart brooch, but here the leaves break out of the round frame of the bottom. This is a rare piece, as it has not been in production for several decades.
Arno Malinowski was one of the most versatile designers who ever worked for the Georg Jensen Silver smithy. He was associated with the smithy from 1936 to 1944, and again from 1949 to 1965, creating designs for jewellery and hollowware. His kneeling deer, dolphins, birds and butterflies defined a generation. He was also a succesful sculptor, ceramist, engraver and medalist..
