Flora Danica (unmarked) parsley earrings - studsProduct no.: 1837The large silver-gilt ear studs for pierced ears started life as 2 sprigs of parsley. moulds were taken from them and the silver base was layered with 18 ct gold. No mould is ever used again, so each sprig is different. I believe these were made by the Danish creators of this type of jewellery, Flora Danica, but cannot be sure as they are unmarked. |

Georg Jensen Arno Malinowski Sterling Earrings 90 - posts for pierced earsProduct no.: 1595Here is a wonderful pair of Sterling silver scallop shaped shell earrings with posts and butterfly backs for pierced ears. They were designed by Arno Malinowski for the Danish silversmithy Georg Jensen. Malinowski's figurative designs of the 1930s and 1940s are still much loved; who doesn't know the kneeling deer, the butterflies, the stylised birds and other brooches, many of which were in production until recently as part of the Heritage Collection. The motif for these earrings was also used for cufflinks and a bracelet, but the earrings with posts are extremely rare, as they were usually made with screws or clips.
