Here is a wonderful and unusual pair of Sterling silver cufflinks by Norway's leading silversmith David-Andersen. The company launched a series called ' Saga' in the 1960s. These items took their inspiration from prehistoric finds from the year AD 300 to 1000, later deposited with the Oslo historical museum.  The motif on these cufflinks is coped from an object dated to the Norwegian Iron Age, around 500AD.

I am not sure whether these were designed by Bent Gabrielsen or the late Karl Gustav Hansen (see profiles) as the later works by these designers sometimes share similarities of form. However, the high design number suggests this is a post 1969 design by Karl Gustav or another associated designer.

The cufflinks bear the marks for both Royal Copenhagen and Anton Michelsen.

Here is a fabulous pair of cufflinks which emerged from the Royal Copenhagen/ Anton Michelsen collaboration. The designers were the ceramicist Bodil Buch and and the silversmith Jens Windfeld Hansen, who worked together at Royal Copenhagen between 1969 and 1974.

The front of this large cufflink consists of a large square tray of silver, into which are set 9 brown and white porcelain segments moulded together, rather like on a bar of chocolate.

Here is a fabulous pair  of Sterling silver cufflinks by the Danish silversmith Willy Kromar. He was a prolific maker of high quality cufflinks from the early 1940s onward and must be forgiven for occasionally 'borrowing' designs from others..  In this case, the Art Deco cufflinks have 5 balls on each side, whereas the probable inspiration by Harald Nielsen for Georg Jensen, (61B) only have 3. Actually I prefer Kromar's version.  Note the stylish backs.
